Featuring Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford-Evans and Ian "H" Watkins, What the Future Holds Pt. 2 combines the unmistakable Steps formula of soaring choruses and dancefloor-ready production with dance-pop, synth-pop and electronic influences. The group described the record as both "classic Steps" and an opportunity to explore some new sounds.
