FAQ's
Why do I have to pay upfront?
We’re ordering the item specifically for you. As a small independent shop, we need to keep our stock budget working hard, and some requested titles can be difficult to find another buyer for if they aren’t collected. Paying upfront allows us to order with confidence - thank you for understanding!
What if I change my mind after submitting the form, but before paying?
Submitting a request doesn’t commit you to buying anything. If you change your mind, simply let us know so we can close your request. We won’t order the item from our supplier until payment has been received.
You’ll have two weeks from receiving your payment link to pay. If payment hasn’t arrived by then, we’ll close the request.
Does receiving a payment link mean my copy is reserved?
No - supplier stock isn’t reserved while we wait for payment, so availability can change. If the item becomes unavailable before we can order it, we’ll contact you and refund any payment made.
How long will it take to receive my item?
In the quickest cases, your item could be ready to collect within 48 hours of payment, but please treat this as the best case rather than a promise.
We generally place supplier orders every 2–3 days. Suppliers often have minimum order values, so we combine customer requests with our regular stock orders. Once ordered, delivery to the shop is usually next working day with our main supplier, or around 2–5 working days with others.
The overall wait depends on availability, when you pay and when we next order from that supplier. We’ll let you know when your item is ready to collect. If you’ve chosen delivery, please allow additional time for us to send it on to you.

Why use Moonface if I can find it cheaper or faster elsewhere?
We understand that price and convenience matter, and we won’t always be the cheapest or fastest option.
Order It In gives you access to more titles than we can fit on our shelves, with personal service from an independent record shop. Every purchase helps us bring more music into Bedford and keep building Moonface.
There’s no pressure to choose us - but when you do, your support makes a real difference.
What is Order It In best suited for?
An album missing from our shelves, a gap in your collection, or a less commonly stocked title you’ve been looking for.
Rather than waiting for us to restock it, you can ask us to order a copy specifically for you. If it’s available through our regular suppliers, we’ll confirm the price and help you get it.
It’s ideal for those slightly more niche requests - as long as the title is still available through normal supply channels. Our exclusions for K-pop, rare, out-of-print and sold-out limited editions still apply.
Why isn’t K-pop included?
K-pop releases often come in multiple versions, with different member covers, inclusions and retailer exclusives. Our suppliers can’t always guarantee which version we’ll receive, making it difficult to fulfil individual requests reliably.
For that reason, K-pop isn’t included in Order It In. We’ll continue bringing K-pop into our regular shop stock - this exclusion only applies to the request service.
Why can’t I request rare or out-of-print titles?
We buy through our regular suppliers rather than sourcing individual titles from collectors or resale sellers.
For example, a limited coloured pressing from 2023 might still appear on resale sites, but that doesn’t mean our suppliers can obtain it.
We don’t buy those copies to resell to you. We’d need to add a margin to cover our costs, leaving you paying more for something you could have bought directly from the same seller. That wouldn’t offer you good value.

Can I use this form to pre-order an upcoming release?
Please place orders for upcoming releases through the Pre-orders section of our shop. Order It In is for titles that have already been released.
